I wanted to post this well known story because it has a very important message about freedom, happiness and the true meaning of wealth. A lot of people are chasing money in the belief that it will bring freedom when freedom is already ours, we just don’t realize it. Continue reading Financial Freedom
Remember when you were a kid and you tried to convince your parents it was a good idea to buy you that toy you wanted or that trip you must go on or party you HAD to go to? Have you ever convinced your partner that this car is the right one for you because of loads of practical reasons but the real reason you want it is because it’s fast or looks good? Have you convinced your mates that a holiday destination will be the best one ever or even which bar to go to on a night out for only one reason and that’s just you want to go there, you actually have no idea how good it is? This is sales and we are ALL inherently good at it because we have been doing it since we could talk we just don’t realize it. Continue reading The Salesman In All Of Us
Anyone that tells you they have the secret to easy wealth and financial freedom with little or no effort effort is probably a liar.
If it existed it would be all over the news, the web, newspapers would sell out from writing about it and 200 books would be published about this moneymaking extravaganza before the end of the week. Then as anyone who knows anything about economics will tell you; the get rich quick scheme will become instantly worthless if everyone is doing it. Continue reading Is There an Easy Way?
I am so critical of myself it’s crazy and I have always been that way. I studied photography for a while and I created some great artwork that I should have been proud of but I was way too critical of it, constantly looking for the kind of perfection that does not exist. It especially does not exist with traditional black and white film that I insist on using and developing myself because I feel modern digital photography lacks soul. I am not talking about self deprecation or beating myself up, I have plenty of confidence in my own abilities I am talking about constructive criticism and recognizing my strengths and weaknesses. There are a certain type of people I like to call “formula followers” these are the people who believed what they were told when teachers and parents said “do well in school, go to university, become a lawyer, dentist, architect and your life will be good”.
These youngsters set about following the formula and now they are the lawyer/dentist/architect that their parents dreamed they would be. These people tend to dislike people like me because they see me with no qualifications and I didn’t follow the formula, I did it the “easy way” and I have a nicer car, nicer house and I work less than they do. Have you ever considered that from about 5 years old we are told where to be, what time to be there and what we must do whilst we are there? It is a legal requirement to attend school in most countries and the government/society control starts at that point. You then go to work and continue to be told where to be and what time to be there on a daily basis, probably getting chastised or reprimanded in some way if you are late. You can’t just get up and leave without permission, you can’t just decide you have something better to do today. How is this freedom? How much is your freedom worth to you and have you really just given it away so easily? From your first day of school for 60 years until you retire your freedoms are eroded. Continue reading Freedom to do what you want
Not everyone wants to start their own business and I don’t blame them but leaving the rat race does not mean starting a business. Many people work as freelance writers, consultants, salespeople, marketing experts, trainers and many other self employed professions that give them freedom and more money than being employed. Continue reading Excuses, Excuses! Don’t Give Me Problems Give Me Solutions!
I just want to clarify that I am NOT touting a rags to riches story. In fact the first paragraph of my book explains how I am not making claims of being a billionaire with fleets of planes, helicopters and warehouses full of cars and how you could do the same.
